Loughborough is home to Loughborough Lightning, who play in the Jaecoo Premiership Women’s Rugby competition, the top-level of league rugby in England.
Boasting many senior and age grade internationals, Lightning brings a wealth of talent and excitement to campus as the team goes head-to-head with the country's top female athletes.

With Franklin’s Gardens being the host of many of the Cup games for Lightning, the JAECOO Next Gen Cup initial pool fixtures will be hosted between Loughborough University and Goldington Road, Bedford.
All Lightning Season Ticket Holders for the 2026/27 campaign will be able to attend these fixtures free of charge – simply give your name and show proof of ID at the entrance once you arrive. Season Tickets are still available HERE, priced from just £70 for adults and £35 for juniors."
