SDW & Netball Badminton Centre - Entrance Upgrades

September 30, 2025 6:45:31 PM CEST

⚒ The Sir David Wallace (SDW) sports complex and Netball Badminton Centre are being improved as part of a summer programme of works on campus.

SDW Sports Complex

SDW is at the heart of campus life, hosting major events like Graduation Ceremonies and Loughborough Lightning netball matches. This project will ensure it remains an inspiring venue, celebrating Loughborough and sport, for years to come.

Until 13 October, there are changes to how the building, including the sports hall, is accessed.

What's changing?

  • Works to create an iconic, welcoming entrance to the venue
  • Interactive, multi-purpose displays telling the history of sport at Loughborough and celebrating our achievements
  • Improved accessibility, making sure all users have access to an engaging, multi-functional entrance space

How will this affect me?

During the refurbishment, access to the building will be temporarily redirected to behind the sports hall on the Epinal Way side of Shirley Pearce Square. We’ll ensure clear signage is in place, and staff will be on hand to help you find your way.

Netball Badminton Centre

The Netball Badminton Centre entrance foyer, changing rooms, and first floor spaces are being entirely refreshed to celebrate the building and its legacy in the sport of netball.

How will this affect me?

Until Fri 31 October, there will be a temporary entrance to both Netball and Badminton halls.

Please follow the signs to the back of the building, taking the path down towards the Tennis & Squash Centre (to the right of the building as you stand looking at the main entrance).
